The study takes approximately 2-3 hours and is completed at Brock University. Parental consent is required for those aged 12-15.
There are 3 main components:
Questionnaires: You will answer questions on the computer that ask about your background, beliefs, personality traits, and past experiences, including with risky activities, like lawbreaking, sexual behavior, and substance use.
Computer tasks: You will complete several computer tasks—some twice—that involve making judgments and decisions. For some tasks, you can earn small or large bonus prizes based on your performance. Some tasks may be completed in the presence of another study participant.
Physiological recordings: We measure height and weight, and waist & hip circumference. We also collect electrophysiological signals through sensors applied to your hands and torso; and we record eye movements with a camera.
